For a short assignment we had to design a cutting board and knife for a specific type of bread.
When you go to a restaurant in the Netherlands it’s very common to get a basket of french bread with herb butter as a snack or before dinner.
Most of the time it is pre-cut or even a but dry by that. French bread is on it’s best when it comes straight out of the oven, hot and crispy.
The set I designed is a way serve it easy and informal. The piece of textile collects the biggest amount of crumbles and it allows you to cut the bread when it’s still hot. Then the herb butter melts on top of, in short:
